Portfolio Classification: AI Enterprise Software / Defense Technology / Institutional Growth Volatility Classification: High
SECTION 1 | EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
As of July 20, 2026, PLTR trades at approximately $134.36 overnight, having retraced approximately 33% from its January 2026 cycle high and 35% year to date, even as the underlying business is accelerating at its fastest rate since the company's 2020 public market debut.
Q1 2026 results confirmed the structural inflection: revenue of $1.633 billion grew 85% year on year, the highest growth rate in the company's public history. U.S. revenue grew 104% to $1.282 billion, crossing 100% growth for the first time. U.S. commercial revenue grew 133% year on year. Adjusted gross margin reached 88%. Adjusted operating margin reached 60%.
The Rule of 40 score reached 145%. GAAP net income was $871 million. Cash from operations was $899 million. Full-year 2026 revenue guidance was raised to $7.650 to $7.662 billion, representing 71% year on year growth. Q2 2026 earnings are expected August 3, 2026 after market close, with Q2 guidance set at $1.797 to $1.801 billion.
The MCC chart confirms three Buy Zones: BZ1 at $115.12, BZ2 at $93.43, and BZ3 at $66.22, with a Price Target T1 of $322.66, representing +381.684% from the BZ cluster per the chart annotation. A lower BZ cluster boundary annotation of 69.136% marks the zone base. The ascending red trendline from the 2024 base has been broken, and the current consolidation is establishing a new structural support level. Maximum capital is reserved for the deepest zone per the corrected MCC DCA structure. Current price is above all three Buy Zones. Cash (Engine 5) holds all undeployed capital.
SECTION 2 | MCC INSTITUTIONAL INTELLIGENCE SUMMARY
Bull Case Drivers
Palantir is executing the most remarkable large-cap software acceleration on record. The company achieved 11 consecutive quarters of accelerating growth, a feat essentially unprecedented at this revenue scale.
The AIP platform is not a demo: GE Aerospace deployed it for a 26% production lift; the U.S. Navy's ShipOS reduced manufacturing approval times from 200 hours to 15 seconds; the USDA awarded a $300 million contract for supply chain resilience and fraud reduction.
The U.S. Army selected Palantir's Foundry as the core cloud data layer for its top modernization effort (NGC2), moving from prototype to wide deployment.
Palantir expanded its Nvidia partnership to develop sovereign AI models for U.S. government agencies, and completed a Google Cloud Marketplace integration deepening AIP's reach into enterprise AI infrastructure.
The company closed 206 deals valued at $1 million or more in Q1 2026, including 72 deals exceeding $5 million and 47 deals above $10 million.
Commercial remaining deal value surged to $4.92 billion, up 112% year on year. Net dollar retention reached 150%, up 1,100 basis points. Analyst consensus from 32 analysts is Buy, with a 12-month average price target of $183.12, representing 37.96% upside from current levels.
Wall Street price targets range from $190 to $230 from multiple upgraded firms. Polymarket assigns 70.5% probability to PLTR hitting $138 in July 2026.
Bear Case Risks
PLTR is down approximately 35% year to date even as the business accelerates. The core bear argument is valuation: forward P/E near 80x and a price-to-sales ratio of 53.54x at recent highs. The market is rotating out of expensive software names and into memory plays and semiconductors.
Palantir's stock-based compensation was $201.6 million in Q1 2026 alone, a persistent dilution concern. International commercial growth was only 26% year on year versus 133% domestic, revealing concentration risk. Insider sales of $562 million more than purchases over the past 12 months are a negative signal.
The stock is technically in a downtrend; the prior ascending trendline from 2024 has been broken and a break above the 200-day moving average is needed to turn structurally bullish. Q2 2026 earnings on August 3 are the next binary catalyst: management guided $1.797 to $1.801 billion, and any miss or guidance reduction would accelerate the current decline.
Institutional Positioning
Large asset managers are among the biggest holders. Citi named PLTR as one of its top three software stock picks for 2026. DA Davidson upgraded to Buy on July 2 with a $175 target. Several Wall Street firms hold price targets in the $190 to $230 range.
The market cap at current prices is approximately $309 billion, placing Palantir inside the mega-cap conversation. Institutional interest is strong on fundamentals but near-term positioning is cautious due to valuation compression and the broader software-to-semiconductor rotation.
MCC Conclusion
PLTR is the single most compelling AI execution story in the MCC Engine 2 coverage universe. The business is accelerating at a rate with no precedent at this scale. The stock is down 35% year to date precisely because it was priced for perfection at the January 2026 high.
The three Buy Zones on the MCC chart represent the institutional accumulation framework for disciplined capital entering at significant discounts to the business's intrinsic trajectory. Q2 earnings on August 3 are the immediate binary catalyst.
SECTION 3 | MARKET REGIME DASHBOARD

Macro | Fed opacity; software multiple compression in high-rate environment; defense spend resilient | Selective Risk-Off |
Overall Regime: Valuation Compression within a Fundamental Acceleration Cycle / Pre-Earnings Binary
SECTION 4 | MARKET REGIME CLASSIFICATION
Current Regime: Valuation Compression within a Structural Fundamental Acceleration.
PLTR presents the most unusual condition in institutional equity analysis: a company posting 85% revenue growth, 60% adjusted operating margins, 150% net dollar retention, and a 145% Rule of 40 score, while the stock trades 35% below its year-to-date opening price. This is not a business deterioration. It is a multiple compression event, driven by the rotation out of high-price-to-sales software names in a higher-for-longer rate environment.
Historical Analogs: Microsoft in 2022 fell 28% while growing revenue 18%; the subsequent 24-month recovery exceeded 100%. Nvidia in Q2 2022 fell 66% from peak while AI demand was building invisibly in the order book; the subsequent two-year return exceeded 800%. PLTR itself fell from $45 to $6 in 2022 before returning to $190+ in early 2026.
Probability Assessment:
Buy Zone | Trigger Condition | Probability |
BZ1 at $115.12 is cycle low | Q2 earnings beat August 3; macro stabilizes | 55% |
BZ2 at $93.43 triggered | Q2 earnings miss or continued software multiple compression | 30% |
BZ3 at $66.22 triggered | Systemic software selloff AND earnings disappointment simultaneously | 15% |
SECTION 5 | TECHNICAL ANALYSIS DIVISION
Chart Input: 7-Day Candlestick | NASDAQ: PLTR | July 20, 2026 | Overnight: $134.36 | Weekly Range: $128.68 to $136.62
Trend Structure: The ascending red trendline from the 2024 base that drove PLTR from single digits to $210+ has been broken. The stock is now in a confirmed intermediate downtrend from the January 2026 high, having declined approximately 35% year to date. The current price of $134.36 is attempting to establish support at the $128 to $140 horizontal zone visible on the 7D chart. A break below this level would accelerate toward BZ1 at $115.12.
Market Structure: Lower highs and lower lows have been established since the September 2025 cycle peak near $210. The November 2025 consolidation at approximately $160 to $175 failed to hold as support on the way down. The current structure requires a sustained hold above $130 and a reclaim of $160 to reverse the intermediate downtrend. For the structural bull market to resume, PLTR must reclaim its 200-day moving average, which stood at approximately $162 as of early June 2026.
Chart Patterns: A broad distribution pattern is visible from the September 2025 peak through the current base formation. The tightening price action at $128 to $136 suggests sellers are becoming exhausted at current levels. Q2 earnings on August 3 are the single most likely catalyst for directional resolution, either confirming the base or breaking it toward BZ1.
Support Levels: BZ1 at $115.12 represents a prior horizontal accumulation zone from the November 2024 to February 2025 breakout base. BZ2 at $93.43 aligns with the September 2024 consolidation range, representing the last major structural support before the parabolic phase. BZ3 at $66.22 represents the extreme capitulation zone, with the 69.136% lower BZ annotation confirming this as the maximum dislocation level on the chart.
Volume Analysis: The decline from $210 to the current $134 area has occurred on progressively declining weekly volume, suggesting the sell pressure is rotating rather than capitulating. Buyer absorption at the $128 to $134 area on recent weeks is constructive.
Earnings Catalyst: Q2 2026 earnings on August 3 after market close are the pivotal event. Q2 guidance is $1.797 to $1.801 billion. The company has exceeded Wall Street EPS estimates in each of its last four quarters. A beat and guidance raise would likely catalyze a sharp recovery toward $155 to $165. A miss would likely test BZ1 at $115.12 within days.

The Fundamental vs. Price Divergence: PLTR is the most extreme example in large-cap tech of a business accelerating while the stock price compresses. Revenue growth is 85% year on year. The stock is down 35% year to date. This divergence is driven entirely by multiple compression in a higher-for-longer rate environment, not by any deterioration in the business.
As the Fed cycle eventually turns and AI execution narratives dominate over AI spending narratives, PLTR's earnings profile positions it as one of the most compelling re-rating candidates in the MCC coverage universe.

Business fundamentals receive the highest scores in the MCC scoring history for a software company. Score is suppressed by valuation risk (80x forward P/E), insider selling ($562M net sales), and the broken technical trend structure. Score upgrades to Elite (82+) upon Q2 earnings beat August 3 and a confirmed reclaim of $160.

SECTION 9 | KEY PRICE LEVELS
Level | Price | Distance from Current | Notes |
MCC Price Target T1 | $322.66 | +140.1% | +381.684% from BZ cluster per chart annotation |

SECTION 10 | ACQUISITION QUALITY ANALYSIS
Buy Zone | Price | Allocation | Dollar Amount | Quality Score | Upside to T1 | Business Context |
BZ1 | $115.12 | 25% | $250 | 8.0 / 10 | +180.3% | Prior breakout base; 14.3% below current |
BZ2 | $93.43 | 35% | $350 | 9.0 / 10 | +245.4% | September 2024 structural base; 30.5% below current |
BZ3 | $66.22 | 40% | $400 | 9.5 / 10 | +387.4% | Extreme capitulation; maximum asymmetry; maximum allocation |
The allocation increases as price decreases. Maximum capital is deployed at maximum dislocation. BZ3 receives the largest allocation because it produces the lowest possible blended cost basis across all three zones and generates the highest return to T1. At a business growing revenue 85% year on year with 60% adjusted operating margins, the deeper the entry, the more compelling the asymmetry becomes.
SECTION 11 | STRUCTURED ACCUMULATION PLAN
BZ1 at $115.12 | 25% ($250)
BZ1 is the first institutional engagement zone. It aligns with the November 2024 to February 2025 breakout base that preceded PLTR's parabolic move from approximately $75 to $210. At $115.12, PLTR would be trading at approximately 15x the current run-rate annual revenue of $7.65 billion, a material discount to the peak 53x price-to-sales ratio. The 25% allocation is intentionally moderate at this level, as the valuation compression thesis is not yet complete and the stock remains in an intermediate downtrend. Entry distributed across two to three weekly candles. This zone is most likely triggered by a Q2 earnings miss or soft guidance on August 3, or by continued macro rotation out of software into semiconductors and energy.
BZ2 at $93.43 | 35% ($350)
BZ2 corresponds to the September 2024 consolidation range, the last major structural support before the parabolic phase that took PLTR from $35 to $210. At $93.43, the company would be trading at approximately 12x trailing revenue for a business growing 85% year on year with 60% adjusted operating margins and $4.2 to $4.4 billion in projected free cash flow for 2026. This represents a fundamentally indefensible discount for an AI platform with 150% net dollar retention and a defense infrastructure moat. The 35% allocation reflects the deeper conviction warranted by this level's distance from fair value. Held in Cash (Engine 5) until BZ1 is confirmed.
BZ3 at $66.22 | 40% ($400)
BZ3 is the extreme capitulation reserve and receives the maximum allocation precisely because it represents the maximum dislocation from intrinsic value. At $66.22, PLTR would be trading at approximately 8.7x trailing 2026 revenue guidance for a company with 88% gross margins and accelerating growth. The 69.136% annotation on the chart marks the lower BZ cluster boundary. A blended three-zone cost basis of $87.97 is achieved when all three zones fill, producing a +266.7% ROI to T1. This 40% allocation is held entirely in Cash (Engine 5) and deployed only upon dual confirmation: PLTR holds above $60 on a weekly close AND institutional buying volume confirms accumulation. No preemptive deployment under any circumstance.
SECTION 12 | TRIM LEVELS
Level | Price | Action | Rationale |
Trim 1 | $170.00 | Rotate 20% to Engine 4 | Approaches prior distribution zone; first profit rotation |
Trim 2 | $210.00 to $220.00 | Rotate 25% to Engine 4 | Reclaims January 2026 ATH area; accelerate de-risk |
Trim 3 | $270.00 | Rotate 25% to Engine 4 | Significant premium to all prior structure; euphoria signal |
Final Exit T1 | $322.66 | Rotate remaining 30% or full position | MCC Price Target achieved; execute Capital Rotation Strategy |
All levels are Profit Rotation / Trim Levels per MCC framework. No resistance terminology used.

ROI | +266.7% |
Probability | 30% |
All math independently audited. Exit price equals T1 across all scenarios per MCC Capital Rule 5. The Best Case produces the highest ROI because maximum capital is deployed at the lowest price zone, achieving the lowest possible blended cost basis of $87.97.
SECTION 14 | IF THEN OR MATRIX
IF | THEN | OR |
Q2 earnings beat August 3 with guidance raise | BZ1 may not trigger; current price holds above $130 | Reassess entry timing; consider partial position above BZ1 |
Q2 earnings miss or soft guidance August 3 | Prepare full BZ1 deployment at $115.12 | Reduce any pre-zone exposure immediately |
PLTR enters BZ1 at $115.12 | Deploy $250 (25%); distribute across 2 to 3 weekly candles | Reduce to $125 if VIX exceeds 25 at entry |
PLTR holds above $130 for 3 or more weeks post earnings | Reassess whether BZ1 is the cycle low | Maintain Cash reserve; do not front-run zones |
Continued software multiple compression | Prepare BZ2 deployment at $93.43 | Hold BZ1 position; add only at BZ2 |
PLTR enters BZ2 at $93.43 | Deploy $350 (35%); confirm business fundamentals unchanged | Partial $175 deployment if macro environment is unclear |

SECTION 17 | RISK MANAGEMENT FRAMEWORK
Position Sizing: Maximum recommended portfolio allocation: 3% to 7% for institutional portfolios with AI equity mandates. PLTR's combination of extreme valuation (80x forward P/E), high beta, and ongoing insider selling requires disciplined sizing even at the Buy Zones.
Invalidation: Primary invalidation: PLTR reports two consecutive quarters of decelerating revenue growth below 50% year on year. Secondary invalidation: U.S. government defense contract spending undergoes a major structural reduction. Tertiary invalidation: A credible enterprise AI competitor demonstrates equivalent AIP functionality at materially lower cost.
Capital Preservation Protocol: Never deploy capital ahead of zone confirmation. BZ1 deployment is moderate (25%) precisely because the stock remains in an intermediate downtrend and the valuation remains elevated even at $115. BZ3 deployment requires dual confirmation as specified. Trim 1 at $170 is non-discretionary.
De-Risk Conditions: PLTR breaks below $110 on a weekly close: Exit BZ1 position; reassess at BZ2. PLTR breaks below $88 on a weekly close: Exit BZ2 position; reassess at BZ3. Any confirmed deterioration in AIP adoption metrics or net dollar retention below 130%: Full position review.

Secondary Objective: Asymmetric return targeting T1 at $322.66 (+381.684% from BZ cluster per chart; +140.1% from current price)
Investment Thesis: Palantir Technologies represents the most compelling combination of AI execution, defense infrastructure moat, and business quality in the MCC Engine 2 coverage universe. The company is growing revenue 85% year on year at $7.65 billion scale, generating nearly $900 million in free cash flow per quarter, maintaining 150% net dollar retention, and deploying its AIP platform at the operational core of the U.S. government and the world's largest enterprises. The stock is down 35% year to date entirely because of multiple compression in a high-rate environment, not because of any deterioration in the business.
The corrected MCC DCA structure places the maximum $400 allocation at BZ3 ($66.22), where the blended cost basis of $87.97 across all three zones produces a +266.7% ROI to T1. This is the mathematical structure of institutional accumulation: maximum capital deployed at maximum dislocation to a world-class business. Q2 earnings on August 3 are the immediate catalyst. Eight of ten MCC agents vote to accumulate at defined zones. Zero agents vote against the directional opportunity.
SECTION 21 | CEO STRATEGIC COMMENTARY
Dear Partners and Fellow Investors,
In twenty years of institutional markets, the pattern we are observing in Palantir Technologies is among the most instructive I have encountered. A company delivers 85% revenue growth, the highest in its history. It raises full-year guidance by 10 points. It generates $899 million in free cash flow in a single quarter. Its AI platform is deployed at the operational core of the U.S. Department of Defense, GE Aerospace, and over 1,000 commercial customers. And the stock falls 35% in the same six months.
This is not irrational. But it is exploitable.
What Is Actually Happening
Palantir peaked at approximately $210 in January 2026 when it was trading at over 53x trailing sales. At those multiples, the stock required perfection. When the Federal Reserve signaled a higher-for-longer posture under Chair Warsh, the market began compressing software multiples across the board. Capital rotated from high-price-to-sales software into semiconductors and energy names with tangible near-term cash flows. PLTR, as the highest-multiple name in large-cap software, bore the brunt of that rotation.
None of this changes what Palantir actually is. The company reduced U.S. Navy manufacturing approval times from 200 hours to 15 seconds. GE Aerospace's deployment of AIP produced a 26% production lift.
The U.S. Army chose Palantir's Foundry as the core data layer for its top modernization program. These are not pilot programs. These are production deployments at the operational heart of the institutions they serve.
The Valuation Argument, Honestly Addressed
The bear case is legitimate and must be acknowledged. At 80x forward P/E and 15x forward sales even at the current depressed price, Palantir requires sustained extraordinary growth to justify its multiple. The company must achieve approximately $42 billion in revenue and a 61% free cash flow margin by 2030 to fully justify current valuations at $134. That is an ambitious path.
But here is the institutional reality: a company growing 85% year on year with 60% adjusted operating margins, 150% net dollar retention, and a Rule of 40 score of 145% is not a normal software company. It is a platform. And platforms historically compress during rate cycles and expand violently when monetary conditions improve.
Our Buy Zones are not based on Palantir being cheap at $115. They are based on the asymmetric risk-reward that emerges when a world-class platform is available at a 50% to 60% discount from peak for reasons entirely external to the business.
The AIP Moat
What Alex Karp has built is genuinely difficult to replicate. The AIP platform operates at the intersection of data integration, AI governance, and mission-critical decision-making. Its ontological architecture, which traces every agent action and data mutation back to its origin, is not merely a feature. It is a regulatory requirement for every government and regulated enterprise customer Palantir serves.
This is a structural moat, not a first-mover advantage. Our Nvidia partnership brings sovereign AI models into secure government environments. Our Google Cloud integration expands commercial reach. The ecosystem is expanding while the stock is declining. That divergence is the window MCC was designed to exploit.
August 3 and What Comes Next
Q2 2026 earnings on August 3 after market close are the next binary event. The company guided $1.797 to $1.801 billion in Q2 revenue. The company has beaten EPS estimates in each of the last four quarters. If Q2 delivers an 85%+ beat with guidance maintained or raised, the market will begin the process of multiple re-expansion toward a more sustainable 40x to 50x forward earnings range. At those multiples, PLTR trades north of $250.
If Q2 disappoints, our Buy Zone framework delivers the discipline that separates institutional capital from reactive capital. We deploy at $115.12 with 25%, knowing we have $350 and $400 more to deploy at even better prices.
Discipline now. Asymmetry then.
